Mentoring

Our Personal and Business Mentors provide Online, Telephone or Face to Face sessions as well as monthly workshops and training sessions – preparing individuals within business/life challenges, crisis and changes.

What is Mentoring?

Mentoring is a development technique and process whereby an experienced, highly regarded, empathetic person provides support, guidance and teaches an individual to become aware of career opportunities, work ethics, re- examine their own thoughts and the importance of positive self-esteem.

Our mentoring involves an exploration of needs, motivations, desires, skills and thought processes which encourages "mentorship" to address the challenges they face.

Our mentors engage with individuals by helping to remove barriers in order to promote effective participation, enhanced learning and life skills, raise aspirations, achieve potential, personal development and be the best that they can be.

Mentoring a Young Entrepreneur

Many Referrals are sent to the Institute of Wellbeing’s Children & Young People’s Department

– URSpecial for help in starting up in business.

Along with financial support – guidance and encouragement from a business mentor is just as important.

If you have:

  • Business skills and expertise to share.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Patience and an non judgemental manner.
  • Strong rapport with Young People.

 

We need volunteers who can:

  • Meet regularly to provide personal and business support.
  • Form a professional relationship with the Young Person.
  • Commit 3-6 hours each month.
  • Complete regular feedback forms.
